Hiya! I’m Alison, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with a passion for helping people reconnect with and trust their bodies. I believe movement can be a powerful way to explore strength, mobility, presence, and self-compassion—not something we need to earn or use to change our bodies. I bring my background in nutrition, body image, and eating disorder care into my yoga teaching, creating classes that are welcoming, body-neutral, and focused on how movement feels rather than how it looks. I was born and raised in New Jersey (big Bruce Springsteen fan!), but now call northeast Florida home. I own and operate a nutrition counseling private practice that works with adults struggling with eating disorders & disordered eating. When I’m not teaching yoga or working with clients through my nutrition practice, you’ll probably find me at home with my husband and toddler, trying a new recipe, traveling, or reading at the beach. I’m so excited to practice with you!
I’ve been moving my body through sports for most of my life, including basketball, softball, volleyball, and soccer—but softball was always my true love. I played for over 15 years, primarily as a pitcher and infielder. At my “peak,” I could throw a 60 mph fastball, but my changeup was my "money" pitch. I miss it fiercely! I practiced yoga throughout my softball years, but really leaned into my practice in 2018/2019, when I earned my RYT-200. Since then, my relationship with movement has continued to evolve, and I’ve found new ways to enjoy movement that feel good in my body and fit into my life—including increasingly creative ways to find Savasana with a toddler climbing over me. :)
To me, body positivity means feeling safe and at home in your body—not necessarily loving it every single day. Our feelings about our bodies can change throughout the day (sometimes even within the hour!), and I don’t think body positivity or body neutrality is a “final” destination. We’re human, our experiences change, and there’s something to learn from all of it. For me, the goal is to meet ourselves with curiosity, compassion, and a whole lot of kindness along the way.
